The 20th Annual Food & Friends Chef’s Best Dinner & Auction was held on June 14th at the Washington Hilton in DC.  Olivera Music Entertainment was proud to be a Chef de Cuisine Sponsor and Entertainment Assistant.  Our very own “Swing Dixie” 6-piece ensemble performed lively dixieland and swing music as guests enjoyed numerous samplings of food and drink from celebrity chefs.  This event raised $800,000 for the organization.

The mission of Food & Friends is to foster a community caring for men, women, and children living with HIV/AIDS, cancer, and other life-challenging illnesses by preparing and delivering specialized meals and groceries in conjunction with nutrition counseling.

Values of Food & Friends

Community: Partnerships and collaborations are vital to our success, both inside and outside the organization, as we build communities that invest in the welfare of others.

Compassion: With hearts open to the needs of all, we believe friendship, empathy and kindness are as much a part of the sustenance we provide as the meals we prepare.

Dignity: Through confidentiality, respect, and a commitment to quality of life for all, we recognize the dignity of every client, volunteer, donor, staff member, and guest.

Diversity: The caring, loving, fun and dynamic nature of our organization is made possible by the diversity of the people we serve and those who help us serve.

Excellence: At every level of operation and public engagement – from food planning and preparation to nutrition education and workshops, from volunteer coordination to special events – we are committed to the highest standards of quality and excellence.

Reliability: As safety, trustworthiness and dependability in all aspects of our operations are the cornerstones of our services, our clients, volunteers, staff and guests can rely on us to fulfill our mission without fail every day.

Virginia Wine Country Wedding Music (Ceremony, Reception, and Dance) at Breaux Vineyards, Purcellville, Loudoun County, VA

Friday, July 9th, 2010

Breaux Vineyards was the spectacular setting for a Virginia wine country wedding in May.  A beautiful outdoor ceremony, complete with breathtaking views, was accompanied by wedding music from the Impresario Strings Trio with Trumpet.  Olivera Music Entertainment provided sound reinforcement for the officiant, readers, and a vocalist/guitarist with wireless lapel and hand held microphones.

Guests enjoyed cocktails on the terrace, with a Jazz Trio providing background music.  For the dinner and dance, the Olivera Quartet, consisting of keyboard, bass, violin, and trumpet, played a variety of background and dance music, in an elegantly furnished and decorated tent.

The expertise of Alexandra Mottesheard of Event Bliss, Ltd., and R & R Catering ensured a memorable, fabulous evening.

The bride and groom enjoyed a picture perfect spring day setting, followed by a beautiful sunset.  Guests formed an archway with sparklers to send off the newlyweds.

Olivera Music Entertainment Partners with Virginia Society of Association Executives (VSAE), providing Music Entertainment & Production Services, Leesburg, Loudoun County, VA

Wednesday, June 23rd, 2010

Olivera Music Entertainment was proud to be the Music Entertainment partner, providing music entertainment and production services, along with Visit Loudoun and the National Conference Center for the Annual Convention of the Virginia Society of Association Executives. For the first time in 16 years, Northern Virginia hosted this prestigious group. Loudoun County pulled out all the stops, showing off the incredible opportunities available to meeting planners in this area, including winery tours, golfing, historic tours, team building and culinary demonstrations.

Olivera worked with Visit Loudoun on a welcome reception at the Lansdowne Resort. The event was a Hunt Country theme. The “Shenandoah Trio” provided fine classical music as guests first entered the Clubhouse Ballroom. In keeping with the theme, the trio switched over to Country and Bluegrass music.

The next evening the National Conference Center hosted a Gala dinner to close the Convention. Pianist Connie Olivera provided background music for cocktails. Sunset Hills Vineyard winemaker Nate Walsh shared his passion for wine and information about the amazing wine pairings he brought to the table with Executive Chef Craig Mason’s fabulous dinner. The Three Waiters surprised guests during dinner with a spectacular show.

Loudoun County is a fantastic place for your next meeting or special event!
